The Galaxy S23 Ultra beats the iPhone 14 Pro Max in this incredible test
The Galaxy S23 Ultra is Samsung’s best offering right now, so it’s no surprise that users want a comparison with the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
On this note, the latest South Korean company and Apple flagship will be the main protagonists. While all of its specs, features, cameras, battery life, and performance are already known, one user has put the latest iPhone head-to-head with the latest Galaxy in a drop test to see which is stronger.
We’ve already seen that the curved design of the Galaxy S23 Ultra makes it more susceptible to damage when dropped on rough surfaces. So the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a flat design and stainless steel frame that often makes it stronger than Samsung‘s Aluminum Armor frame.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has an edge over the iPhone 14 Pro Max regarding the front and back glass, using Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2, the strongest glass panel yet.
In the first round of testing, both phones fell flat on their backs, and guess what, the Galaxy S23 Ultra‘s Gorilla Glass Victus 2 held up pretty strong. Although the back of the iPhone 14 Pro Max has been smashed, Samsung‘s phone only suffered a few cracks in the corners, and its rear panel was still in one piece. However, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has come to be left with a broken camera lens.
However, the second round went in his favour. The smartphones were dropped in such a way that their corners hit the concrete first. The stainless steel frame of the iPhone 14 Pro Max absorbed the impact quite well, as its rounded corner has helped cushion damage. However, on the other hand, Samsung‘s smartphone was not supported by its boxy design and sharp corners.

Now they have had to drop with the screens facing down, a scenario in which both phones have suffered similar damage. However, the cracks were larger on the Galaxy S23 Ultra than on the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
A slow-motion replay of the fall shows pieces of the phones flying, where it’s more of the iPhone. While the damage to the screen didn’t get worse, the back of the iPhone 14 Pro Max was smashed.
Broken glass also began to cause light flashes on the cameras, though the Galaxy S23 Ultra has shown no functional issues after four rounds of drop tests. So, we can affirm that in general terms, the Samsung smartphone has surpassed the last iPhone with a final result of 38-36.
